What is Social Networking

More and more employers are starting to use social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter to find out a little more about potential employees, which should be making young job seekers rethink those tagged photos & more. A survey by US job site CareerBuilder.com revealed 45% of employers used these sites to screen applicants — and this is “ definitely growing”, says a senior branch manager at Network Finance, a division of Network Recruitment. Professional sites like LinkedIn have made employers aware of how they can use other sites to get information about candidates. Though employer doesn’t screen every applicant, Facebook is a handy tool for “clarifying concerns or doubt, or to get peace of mind if I have a niggle feeling”.
